Dear editor,
With high rates of morbidity and death of up to 30%, sepsis is a major public health concern that endangers the lives of patients in intensive care units (ICUs) as well as ordinary hospital wards[1-2]. Sepsis is a
life-threatening organ failure brought on by an uncontrolled host immunological reaction to an infection.Essentially, this dysregulated immune response damages several organs by aggravating the systemic inflammatory
response and failing to defend the body against infection. The lungs are frequently the first and most vulnerable
organs to invade among those impacted by multi-organ failure in sepsis. According to research, acute lung injury (ALI) will occur in 25% to 50% of sepsis patients.
